In the south of the island of Pag, about 15 minutes drive from the Pag bridge, in a beautiful natural bay, you will find Povljana.
The area, where numerous freshwater sources have allowed more intensive agriculture and viticulture, has for centuries fed most of the island. Therefore, the area between the two bays - Stara and Nova Povljana - looks like a green oasis amidst the extremely rocky landscape of the island of Pag.
After 1950s tourism starts to develop transforming the place. Today Povljana is a developed municipal center with about 800 inhabitants and a distinguished tourist destination.
Povljana can boast of several kilometers of beaches. So you can enjoy the beaches of gravel, stone, sand as well, especially if you have small children. The liveliest is Dubrovnik. It is a beautiful pebble beach with plenty of shade, cafes, restaurants that offer food, ice cream, cold drinks all day.
In addition to the beautiful beaches and clear blue sea, you will also enjoy the rich gastronomy. You`ll find here restaurants and taverns with affordable prices, right next to the sea, and friendly hosts who will make sure that your stay in Povljana stays memorable.
Here you can enjoy long walks on the beach and numerous facilities for sports and children. You can relax on the tennis courts, football pitches, playing boccie or Volleyball on the sand.
If you suffer from rheumatic or similar problems, you can try to alleviate them with the mud from the nearby pond Segal.
